Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Sterling Notary Services.
Can you come to a hospital or nursing home?
Yes. When circumstances allow, I can provide mobile notary service at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice settings, and private residences.
Can you notarize a Power of Attorney?
Yes, provided the document is complete, the signer has proper identification, and the signer is willing and able to sign.
Do you give legal advice?
No. A notary public is not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice, prepare legal documents, or explain the legal meaning of a document.
How much does it cost?
Notarial fees are based on North Carolina law, and any travel-related cost will be discussed and agreed upon before the appointment.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Same-day appointments may be available depending on schedule and location. Call or text for the fastest response.
Can you provide witnesses?
Some documents require witnesses in addition to notarization and that is on the client to provide those witnesses, not the notary. Please mention this when scheduling so we can discuss what is needed before the appointment.
